I have seen this kind of tactic that Killerskill is using before. He considers this thread as proof that he sent the items when he in fact knows differently.
After he has been arrested, his story will be, "Judge, it HAD TO BE TRUE. Why else would I spend so much time defending myself if it wasn't true???" A reasonable judge will say, "Because you have done nothing whatsoever to show that you actually mailed the knives. You never got insurance, you never got a tracking number, you never got a witness to watch you package up the knives and accompany you to the PO whereupon you sent them to a specific address, you never exercised even a minimal level of common sense to ensure that a package which had been previously lost would not get lost again, etc., etc., etc., etc."
I know this because I was once a victim of this type of scam. But now, the rest of the story-- Warrant was issued and when the police showed up at her house to take her into custody, all they heard was, "but I have the money right here, he can have it, please don't arrest me...". And FWIW, my loss amount in that case was barely over what the loss is in this case. Thankfully, things worked out.
Killerskill, don't think that because the amount was small or that you are far away or that you live out of a cardboard box next to the RR tracks with no physical address that you can get away with this. Your day will come.
And to the original poster of this thread, the last step before giving up on this guy is to pursue criminal charges. Don't take "no" or "we don't have time" for an answer. Keep at it and sooner or later, your efforts will be rewarded.
Killerskill, I hope that all this was worth it to you.
