Massdrop Terzuola

I've been reading the discussions on this and I may get one now.
I kind of wrote it off when I first got the email.

Yeah I feel the same way. Would've been so easy to design it as left hand pocket friendly.

I also dislike the flipper aspect of it. If I'd get a Terzuola design it'd be thumb disc only.
I may be reading too much into it but Jonas made a comment that made me think that a lefty option for this knife might be coming in the future.

"Sorry, not on this one - the clip is curved, so we'd have to make a different clip and scale just for left-hand carry. We get a few requests for this, and I'm looking into whether it's feasible in the future, but we're not quite there yet."

So far none of the Massdrop produced knives have been offered in a lefty friendly alignment. I know that response looks non-committal but they've taken a lot of criticism for not offering left hand carry. This is the closest they've come to saying they'd like to offer it on a knife they produce. Maybe...

What I don't understand is why anyone has a problem with another person's preferences, to the point of comments referring to things like "logo rage", and accusations like "... shouldn't have the right to brand a knife that they put together with a maker." and similar comments bordering on the ridiculous.

Some of my personal preferences include:

Android over iPhone
the color blue over the color red, generally speaking
Knives from Massdrop without a logo that says "Massdrop", unless "Massdrop" is the only logo

I don't really care much what other people choose, or prefer, but those are a few of my preferences.

Are the above preferences enough to get me accused of "iPhone rage", or that I think that people "... shouldn't have the right to choose the color red, over the color blue ..." ?

Holy pot calling the kettle black, Batman.

I don't have any problem with people who put stickers all over their personal vehicles and cover them bumper-to-bumper like Nascar logos and stickers, but I prefer not to do that to my own car. I don't think this qualifies as "sticker rage", but maybe you do?

I totally get this... everybody is entitled to their opinion. My opinion on this matter is that if this was the first Massdrop knife to have it's blade branded, I can see people expressing their opinions on it. But this subject gets beat like a dead horse every time a new massdrop knife drops... It's funny really, some people think that for whatever reason Massdrop shouldn't have the right to brand a knife that they put together with a maker.

I'm not NASCAR here. I like a clean blade and personally have no emotional connection to massdrop so why would I want it on there?

I’m just curious to know what knife you own that doesn’t have anything written on the blade?

On topic, I really like the look of this and may have to get one. My only issue with mass drop is how long it takes between buying and delivery. I’m still waiting for my ferrum gent to be delivered.

Agreed but if you look at their recent collabs, most of them are flippers and most of them are selling well.

I think Massdrop is sticking with what makes the most money. Which is not a bad thing at all...they're a business, after all.

I should have said "cleaner" instead of "clean". I don't mind engraving, words, pictures, ect.... if they connect me to the company making it. Spyderco is the least intrusive. You just normally get a Sal or Eric logo, and the little spydie guy.

It can get crazy though, not much room on the Emerson Sheepdog for example after all the logos and words, BUT, I love Emerson so I live with it. If either the Spyderco or Emerson also said "backpage" on it, that would ruin it for me to where I wouldn't buy it.

In the end, I don't want a website I could care less about to be permanently on my blades. It's just a deal breaker to me no matter how nice the blade may be.

No. it will just stop you from being a hypocrite. If I truly have to explain it to you.....

Ah, see that's what you want to project. You really said it though to act high and mighty, with an ego pushing around that you are Gold member so no one is able to have a differing opinion for the new shiny object you are fawning all over.

See there is a difference between a member who has dialogue here on a regular basis and around since before the system change to membership levels, and a non blade forums vendor. But if I have to explain that to you..........

Your welcome to your opinion.... even if it is wrong.

No ego, not high and mighty, and differing opinions are welcome. It simply means that you commenting about massdrop not being a paid vendor, while your not a paid member, makes you a hypocrite. The fact that I actually had to spell it out for you speaks volumes. Enjoy ignorance.

I would recommend everyone read this before going much further..Someone already dropped a price in this thread and if you read the link M marcinek posted, it's no bueno.

So to be clear... from this point forward it’s ok to discuss the knife itself, but not where it’s sold(unless a BF Vendor)? Just curious as I don’t want to break any rules

Nice edit

I’ve been here since July 2010 and seem to remember memberships back then..... you joined Sept 2011. I’m not following your logic here

I don't necessarily agree with all the points supporting the decision in that thread, but I do believe in following the rules that I agreed to when signing up here. Even Spark chose to sound off on the question. That makes it very clear.

I've been very active in discussions about other exclusive Massdrop knives, but I think I'll stay out of them from now on. It's a slippery slope to discuss a knife without some reference to it's value or pricepoint...and that essentially leads to deal spotting for a non-supporting vendor. I hadn't really considered it that way until now. I appreciate the clarification and will err on the side of caution. Thanks to Marcinek for linking to that thread.

Nice edit

Yeah, you mean the edit that responded to you comparing anyone not Gold level to the website you want to promote here? Get outa here.

Thread needs to close, and go bu bye.

I have no affiliation with said company, just excited about the Terzuola Collab, I’ve always loved his designs. I have not purchased any of the collabs that MD has put out to this date.

Let’s get this back on track. We can not link anything to a non bladeforums vendor, but we can discuss the knife in question.

You are welcome. I believe the issue is not discussing Massdrop knives, but discussing Massdrop knives' prices. I think that is where the "deal spot" comes in.

I'm not at all sure how or why a member's membership status has anything to do with that member pointing out a deal spot for a nonsupporting retailer. o_O

Thanks for posting the clarification for all of us.

I simply stated it made him a hypocrite. Ymmv. I have no personal issues with anyone here and hope we can be productive moving forward.
