Nice score Dan, I'll be sure to pass through your way again on purpose when traveling to W'tloo to see these 4.7s if they should show before mine. Biscuits an gravy are on you this time though (lol).

Sounds great Jim, hopefully no weirdos trying to hitch rides off us this time. I'm finishing up a vacation in Michigan, gotta head back to the real world soon.

To my absolute surprise, I just received a shipping notification from Survive! regarding my GSO 4.7 F-2nd which I had purchased on Monday 5/09.

Man oh man, the fact that Survive! is going to be dealing with some personal issues and not firing on cylinders in June and still managed to fulfill this order, speaks volumes that despite their lack of daily presence on here to babysit some folks, they have not been sitting on their laurels. I honestly was not expecting this fulfillment till mid July. THANK YOU SO MUCH SURVIVE!

Now, this is going to be a very eventful week for me as i have already received my Carothers Light Choppers, will be receiving my GSO 4.7 in a few days, the LC Wright Overland machete should be here tomorrow and the thanks for another Survivor (TreviTrace) I managed to find the GB Small Forest axe I wanted instead of my toylike Wildlife hatchet. I know that I have spent some sizeable amount of cayyysh on metal in the past months, but heck it is my own and there is no warden to whom Casino will need to respond to :p
 
As soon as I saw your 4.7 from the 9th shipped I had to check the status on mine from the same sale. It shipped just now as well, Happy Days!!
 
I didn't want to put this in the HeadsUp thread just in case it was going to cause some friction with those who also ordered on 5/09 but no fulfillment notices as of yet. That said, the 5/09 sale was very, very low in supplies. I think it was all over in a couple of minutes IIRC!

What's the FIRST thing you are going to do when you get your new knife??? (microphone shoved in your face, cameras are rolling!)
 
Ear to ear grin! It is a really good feeling whenever such a high quality knife for a great price gets delivered.
After getting the initial feel for the new handle style, I will take the scales off and see if I can find the flaw.
Then the walnut scales from you are going on after waxing the tang.
 
Since these GSOs come so pristine and purddy, I intended to cut some cardboard and some kindling right away so that I don't even give it a chance to become a shelf queen like my 5.1 did. In reality, I will probably be selling my second 5.1 too hence as to why I never used it other than fondling it. I am a 3V sorta guy and I will just shift the proceeds form the 5.1 to the 4.5 BC preorder.

But yeah, I won't know for certain till I hold both in my hands to gauge my current sentiment but no matter what, the 4.7 is going to be a keeper and a user ;)
 
What handle did you get? Will this be your first with the microtexture? If so.. man are you in for a treat! showing my 4.7 off to some hunting buddies and they were floored by how nice the 4.7 is..
 
Camo g-10 handles on this one, will be happy either way- textured or not, but you all know I hope it is the new style just to see what it is like!

I got it in Ghost Jade, tumbled fasteners and black sheath. I am really hoping that it will be micro textured as both G10 handle and the Canvas on my 5.1s were too smooth for me. The TeroTuf handle on my Carothers Light Chopper sticks to hands like glue!

I have a factory 1st from the preorder that I'm waiting on. I'm ok with waiting though but I'm almost wishing that I got a factory 2nd instead because I'm going to beat on it once it gets here.
