OT: Survivor Sidekicks (photos)

And Grogimus, small dogs are just a great as big, as you well know. Looks like you ran her too hard, eh? :D

It's a strange conundrum with her. She poops out quick, but she absolutely hates being left behind. I have the normal ties to people in my life that others possess, family and friends. Gypsy is a wholly different presence in my life. She is the avatar of kindness, love, and compassion made flesh. She keeps me grounded and sane. Sane'ish.

Dogboye

We've had rotties (usually in pairs) for over 25 years now. Absolutely love the breed!

Going on 20 years here, Shark. I hope to continue the run a long time.

Here is Alvin

That's a good looking Rottie!

You guys and your big badass dogs! Unfortunately sometimes, my little Dachshund is convinced she can take anything down.

I took her out for a couple hours checking for deer lays the other day. Plenty of good spots.

And she's a trooper.

But this is how most of the time went, carrying her[emoji16]

I was regretting the weighted backpack I took along in the name of exercise pretty bad by the time we got back to the car!

Those little Dachshunds can be evil little buggers!
They have great personalities though.

Looks like a good time to me, Nate.

6 years ago when we got our golden retriever, my wife and I decided together and were firm on the idea that our dog would not go on the couches or our bed.

That lasted about 2 hours :)

A Pitbull is made to be next to mom or dad, just the way they are. Do anything else and you will be calling Cesar 911.

Gypsy's gonna be 10 this month, I don't like that at all.

Pondering snacks no doubt.

They do become a worry as they age. One fact that none of us can get around is that they just do not live long enough. But we have come to the conclusion in our family that life without a dog is really not much of a life. It took 1.5 years after the loss of our last dog until last October when we rescued this goofy guy,

but none of us can imagine life without him.

She's a cute little bugger. As far as age goes, I'd just enjoy every minute with them. 10 years old isn't too bad.

I'm glad you guys are having a great time with him! Life definitely isn't the same without a good pet.

Chloe who is my hiking and backpacking sidekick and Jade our 10 month old Golden. Last two pics are Jade's first backpacking trip last weekend. She loves playing in the water and curling up by the fire.

Those are some good looking pups you have. Is your Golden a goofball like the rest of them?
