Well............It depends. Next Question:D

This thread is cracking me up. I have a real question for you, Todd (not that any of the other questions were fake:D)-As you said, its a "Custom" shop so anything goes......do you have a grind preference that you usually do unless asked otherwise? How do you sharpen your blades? And a non-shop related one---Regarding you and Murph, Who introduced who to Becker knives and the sub-forum?

Oh man, serious questions. O.k. uh, I will try to answer with the maturity that this deserves so bear with me, I may have to edit in a few times.

I made my first knife in 1998. however, the first 8 years or so i just dabbled with it. made some good stuff but not very many and no two the same. Just made what I wanted when I wanted. I was facinated with high end ornate pieces. so a lot of stuff was file worked, inlayed, exotic stuff. I took a liking to it because its something that I could never afford, so my mindset was id have to make it myself or id never have it. However, I also like outdoorsy stuff. so knives I use look totally different. As users I like the utility of the full flat grinds. for skinning, I like the hollow grind. I also like the looks of a good hollow grind on fancy pieces. but flat is the grind I find most versitile.

I sharpen my knives on a small belt sander to get the small secondary edge then finish off with various stones all by hand. However, the best way for me to get a good edge on a knife is to give it to my Dad. He is the one I learned a lot from and I know of very few people that can get a knife as sharp as he does. A lot of times when hes over I get him to do it and everybody is happy!
As far as me and Murph, that all is a exteremely long story. I'll edit in later when I got more time.

If a bear craps in the woods and no one is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?

If a bear craps in the woods and no one is around to smell it, does it still make a stink?

What kind of knife do y'all recommend to fight against a bear in mid-deuce?

I really think the obvious answer would be "the knife you have with you". But, if were going to pick one it would be a chainsaw.

If you piss off a bear mid-deuce and no one else is around to see it, can modern forensics substantiate your untimely demise?

Yes ask Timothy Treadwell

I was thinking of that dude too.. Just didn't know his name. Incorrectly assumed grizzlies liked him, got turned into bear scat for his trouble. Ate his girlfriend too. That's a helluva way to go.

Bearshit Treadwell could have used a good chainsaw that day. I really think it's more effective than bear spray.

:thumbup:You know when youve really hit the bigtime when the Todd in the "ask Todd thread" doesnt even have to answer the questions anymore. :D Ive got people now. the whole world can kiss my ass! :D:thumbup:

What brand of chainsaw works best on bear?
