It looks like Shark beat me to it, but may be assuming Benson's proxy? but things fall through. and may have been other proxy requests in line ahead of me.

1st choice would be vintage edge grain micarta with black micarta liner. 2nd choice would be maroon linen micarta on black liner. Would also like a sheath with Tek-Lok

It does turn into a mess when you "double-dip", so to speak. I thought it was assumed and respected that if you ask for a proxy it is because you are not able to participate in the sale; not to double your chances of getting a spot.

This was first time offering to proxy for someone, and now I am left in an awkward, somewhat compromising position:

  1. I proxied for you - you also posted (and got a spot).
  2. I then offered my spot to the next in line ( Shark01 Shark01 ), since he had asked for a proxy less than 15 min. before the sale started:

So - here I am. I've already made a commitment (publicly) to give my spot to Shark01 Shark01 , and that's what I will be doing. While I don't agree with members requesting a proxy, and then participating in the sale themselves, I failed to read through all the replies in the "Sales Thread" before offering my spot to the next in line who had asked for a "proxy" (in the "Next Sale" thread). This was a lesson learned for me.

I hope this doesn't become a trend, as I have found most everyone in the CPK Family to have much integrity and respect for eachother. Let's keep that ethos going. :)

That seems like it would be the most fair way to handle it. If the "proxy" is no longer needed, it becomes void and skipped over to the next in line who replied in the Sales Thread. This was first time offering to proxy for someone (unsolicited) and, while it was nice to participate and help someone out, it kinda turned into a sh*t show.

My apologies for any confusion or rustled pantaloons. :)

I'll see you ladies and gents on the 3rd to claim my Behemoth Chopper!!! Stand Warned! :p:thumbsup:

I certainly don't want this to be an issue.

I make every effort to try and participate. Sometimes I can and sometime I can’t. I live in an area (on a farm) where my internet comes off a barn silo with an inconsistent signal and a speed around 2 Mbps. That is terribly slow. I have no cable or an other internet provider. With any type of adverse weather such as today’s rain my speed has dropped to 0.35. Unless Nathan offers a substantial number of blades (20 or more), I simply don’t have much of a chance to score on the Friday sales. Nevertheless, I continue to try never knowing if a particular blade may not be quite as popular (like that would happen) and I could sneak in but there is generally little chance of that.

If you are uncomfortable with the proxy, I have no problem with that and will gladly bow out and allow you the opportunity to provide your proxy to someone else. I’m fine with that and have no problem at all. While there is time, I would ask you to remove me from the proxy and assign it to whomever you wish.
