Yes I think it’s the Same productThank you, I haven't purchased from these guys yet but was looking at https://www.makermaterialsupply.com...ayer-suminagashi-outer?variant=12962206613587 they are in Texas and I think the price is slightly better.
That’s some old stock I got a couple of years ago. Unfortunately I’m not sure where. It’s most likely from one of the knife maker suppliers within the EU.Cuulleeeeen. I am digging that micarta. Wherja git it?
Dave, those blue pine cone scales are pretty awesome! did you make them? if not, where'd they come from?
I made a couple of draw knives for some upcoming projects. I'm planning on using them for some hatchet handles, and to make a longbow.
I got it on Etsy. It is very precise and cheaper than any other carbide faced file guide I have seen. I haven't tried it yet but it looks like it opens wide enough for integrals too.nice file guide, where is it from?
I haven't made a bow yet, but thanks for the tip. I will remember that one .Hey Sean, have you made many bows?
I've got a piece of advice when using a draw knife for bow making: When working the back of the bow down to a single growth ring, you might want to dull your draw knife a bit. if it's dull, it'll tend to want to wedge between growth rings instead of wanting to cut through them. this will make it easier to keep one growth ring, without violating the fibers and causing you to have to go deeper.
anyway, cool project! good luck with the bows, they are tons of fun to build!
Look here. A bit cheaper...nice file guide, where is it from?
