Custom Benchmade Scales

I love the OD Grip... Would love something like this, or the white G10 with an Ivory Snakeskin Juma inset for a Benchmade 710 ... even the curved outside surface.

Looking good. I'm glad you like them. Let me know if you ever have any issues.

A few from this week.

This is my full size Grip. Adds a bit of weight to the knife and makes it feel MUCH BETTER IN HAND!!!

Only problem I see with these scales are there are so many ones I'd like, I might have to go buy more knives to get the scales for! :-)

Wow, just finished looking through all your pics in this thread, and all I can say is you are doing some amazing work!!!

Once I'm back working again, I'm going to hit you up for some blue twill 943 scales, and something for my Ritter Grip as well. :D I just hope you continue to offer this service for awhile!

Thanks, I'm not likely to stop making them anytime soon.

Anyway, some stuff from this week.
A new take on one of my old designs. This one's all mine.

And some other stuff from this week.

Can you make thin grips with inlays? I'd be very interested in seeing a set of OD Micarta Scales with Ironwood inlays.

Usually the only way to make them thinner is to make them flat. The length of the pivot really dictates the width on these scales. It's already pushing it as thing as I go. So, they have to be flat style to be thinner.

Could you do a mini stryker? Or know anybody that does? I've really been looking at the Ritter Mini Grip in M390 and the Mini Stryker. I'm leaning more towards the stryker for grip width, but I wouldn't mind being able to get some OD Micarta scales for it.

Do the scales for the 940 use the slim back spacer, or the barrel spacers like the 940-1? I hate the slim back spacer the regular 940 uses.

I hope to see you do the Contego one day. I'd love a Coyote scale with the original pattern. I hate all the smooth scales I see from others. I love the grip of the stock scales after a few days once the sharp edges have worn off.

Great work! I've never cared for the Grips, but your work has me rethinking that.

My 940 scales are like the 940-1. Sorry I don't have anything for the contego yet. Since I started doing scales on the side I just haven't had any free time to program anymore. I know the 585 and 580 are a someday, but I'm not sure what's after that.

Riley and bravo, scales are looking nice.

What would you say the traction on the G10 scales for the 940 compares best with? Is it like an aggressive Emerson style, or a medium traction factory PM2/ZT0562 G10? Or a smoother Hogue "G-Mascus"?
