Thanks Gus, the whittler had oil left on the blades, it has the majority of it's original luster blurred by the coat of oil.

Last night I received a prize...
I had no idea that I was to have my finest example of a strawberry-bone Robeson.

I understand the 40s and 50s isn’t that long ago, but for me this knife has just become THE representative of an era I’m very sorry I missed.
