Winter kith?

Finally got to taking a pic.

I may need to bow out. You knifemakers are real professionals in a different league.

Also I may have messed with the temper of my blade by leaving it under a 300 watt halogen work lamp. I thought that was a good idea to make the G-Flex harden faster.

Here is my finished knife, but I do not know if the temper is any good:

It would suck if I had to scrap it after all that work. It was mostly made with hand tools.

What type of steel is it? As long as you didn't overshoot the original tempering temperature you should be fine.

Any temperatures significant enough to change the temper of your blade will have baked your G-Flex to complete failure. I'm sure you're fine.

Marc do you want a chunk of 1075 to play with before buying a stick? I have bunches.

OK. My turn to bow out. Got the knife done, but don't have time to do a sheath.

If you overheated it, the steel would have turned blue. It's probably fine.

It's really easy from your phone if you use the tapatalk app. Otherwise, post it to a photo sharing site and use the picture insert button above your posting interface on here to insert the URL from the photo sharing site.

So I am finished with mine and I am not a professional knife maker whatsoever. My goal was to use this as a learning experience and hopefully get feedback on small tweaks I can make to improve my abilities. This was the first time to try a hamon so it is not near a pretty as kuraki's (by the way great looking knife), but I learned a lot on what to try on my next hamon. That being said I am finished as long as it is worthy of the KITH still.

I'm out of the kith due to a vehicle break in, but I would have been honored to receive that if I were still in. Great looking knife.

TG everything about it looks looks great. Congratulations on the hamon.
