I think it's Lorien's nod to "know your market". Pretty sure that Canada does use SI units, but he knows the larger majority of CPK subforumites and fans are in the US.Off topic question, I always thought that in Canada you are using the normal units, not these funky freedom units.

If you're talking about the back of the blade, it's actually a dip (hard to tell in a pic).Not sure what I'm looking at there... Yes I know, its a big friggin knife! but is that shaped metal or a tumor or, what is the non sanded humpy part?

I was told not to worry much about making this pretty, as it's just a prototype. One side is at 220 grit now, and there are a number of imperfections that will remain, as much as it kills me to leave them.
both sides, and hard work! (which I probably did wrong...)Now you're cooking with gas!
Is the big weight reducing depression just on one side?
(I'd like to hear how you removed most of that material...)
